Finals week is always a stressful week for any college student. You have to hit the books hard to prepare yourself for the examinations. Just like our bodies, our brains could use a little break after working hard for extended periods. It turns out playing with doggos is one of the best ways to do this.
We’re not just saying this because we love dogs. There is scientific evidence proving that just the mere presence of a pooch is enough to lower our stress levels significantly. If an adult doggo can do this, for our mental health, just imagine what a cute and cuddly puppy could do.
That is why the Jurgys decided to use cute puppies to help stressed-out college students at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Nellie and Bryce Jurgy are Youtubers who go on adventures around the United States. They also do funny and light-hearted challenges which led them to this project.
They emptied their old van, except for the driver’s seat, rolled out some strips of grass, and filled the van with adorable puppies. Telling young people that you have puppies in your van and asking them to follow you isn’t exactly the best idea, but these college students are already adults who could really use the break.
The Jurgys just tell them that they have the best study break idea ever and that is enough for these young men and women to humor them. It’s touching to see how their faces light up and their jaws drop every time they come near the van and see the puppies.
They loved the pups so much that many of them even asked to get in the van, and of course, the Jurgys allowed them to. The students spent some time playing with the tiny doggos and we’re pretty sure the project was super effective. The Jurgys shared that all of those pups were up for adoption, and we hope that their exposure led to some adoptions being made.
