As loving dog owners, we know how to keep our dogs feel safe during the Fourth Of July celebrations. The loud noises that fireworks have are very frightening for our dogs, which can cause them to feel a lot of anxiety. I even purchased earmuffs for my dog to dampen the sound of fireworks during the Fourth Of July celebrations. I also let my dog sleep on my bed during this day of the year.
However, thunderstorms are another thing. We can’t really know when thunderstorms will hit our areas, especially if you’re like me, who doesn’t watch the news often. During thunderstorms, my dog got so anxious that he destroyed the screen door so he could come inside. As soon as I let my dog indoors, he went straight under my bed to hide from the loud noises.
We need to remember that besides letting our dogs inside the house, we have to assure our dogs that everything will be alright. Aside from hiding in a safe place, our dogs also need some love to calm them down and assure them that there’s nothing to worry about. A video on social media went viral when a toddler knew precisely what to do to help his doggie best friend during a thunderstorm.
The video shows a Golden Retriever hiding inside the laundry room beside the washing machine and the dryer. The smart toddler seems to know that his doggie friend was scared and didn’t hesitate to accompany the Golden Retriever in the laundry. The amazing thing about the video is that the toddler knew exactly how to calm down his best friend.
Although the toddler’s speech is still hard to understand, the tone of the baby’s voice seemed to have a calming effect on the Golden Retriever. The toddler sat beside the Golden Retriever and continued petting the dog until it calmed down. The dog seemed to relax while the toddler kept talking and petting the dog. The entire scene is definitely heartwarming. So, here’s the viral video showing a toddler doing the right thing to help his doggie best friend get through a scary time in its life.
