Penni’s early life was not the happiest. The dog spent the first years of her life in the basement of a drug house. Later on, her previous owners left her in that house with no food to eat and water to drink. Good thing, volunteers from the Fur Friends in Need came to the rescue and brought her to the animal shelter.
Incidentally, the group’s rescue of Penni was on the same day that the pooch was scheduled to be euthanized. The volunteers were thankful that they were able to save the dog’s life just in time. One of the volunteers was Blaine DeLuca, who also works as an art director.
DeLuca is a natural dog lover. After he knew about Penni’s story, Blaine knew he had to do something. This is why Blaine, later on, decided to adopt the pooch for good. According to Blaine, while it was a kneejerk reaction on his part, he is so sure of his decision.
The custody of Penni was then given to Blaine after the latter proved he is capable of providing the needs of the dog. Blaine then brought Penni to her new home and presented her with a loving environment.
Since Blaine also loves to climb mountains, he lets Penni joins him with his adventures now and then. At first, the dog was too anxious about the activity. However, with Blaine’s extraordinary skills, the man was able to train the dog in overcoming her fears.
Soon enough, the dog began enjoying the outdoor activity. The mountain climbing became leisure for both Penni and Blaine as they make this part of their routines. Blaine’s work, later on, had to make the two move from New Jersey to Las Vegas. This change of residence, though, did not hinder Penni and Blaine’s usual mountain hiking leisure.
