Puppies are highly energetic and playful. They can run around for hours without ever getting tired and they also love playing with other dogs that are also highly energetic. Most puppies would be bouncing off the walls soon after they wake up and they will never stop until it’s time for bed. So, what would happen if you introduce a highly energetic puppy with a tortoise that takes hours to wake up and start the day?
A tortoise named Tilly G was found by the Humane Society of Los Angeles. Tilly G was in a rough shape. He was underweight, had a cracked shell, and he had a respiratory infection, which was life-threatening. Thankfully, Tilly G was found just in time and was given the necessary treatment and care for him to survive.
After Tilly G was adopted by a family in Santa Monica, he thrived in his new home’s backyard. Tilly G was spoiled by his new humans. He was given all the food that he could ever need and he also had a lot of space to explore. Tilly G also loves spending time with the family’s other pets and would often be seen hanging out with the dogs.
Eventually, Tilly G’s family adopted a puppy named Skippy. As a puppy, Skippy understandably had a lot of energy. On Skippy’s first day in his new forever home, Skippy was already bouncing off the walls and all he really wanted to do is play and explore his new home. Skippy’s new humans decided to introduce Skippy to Tilly G out in the yard.
At first, they didn’t know how Tilly G would react to Skippy. Tilly G has never seen a puppy before and he never had to deal with an energetic dog. So, Tilly G and Skippy’s humans wanted the introduction to last only a short time to help the two animals adjust.
When Skippy was introduced to Tilly G, the two animals instantly bonded. Tilly G and Skippy fell in love with each other from the first moment they met. Skippy was constantly sniffing Tilly G and he even gave Tilly G lots of puppy kisses on his face. Instead of getting surprised or scared and hiding in his shell, Tilly G didn’t mind the kisses at all. In fact, Tilly G embraced it and he accepted Skippy as part of the family.
Now, Tilly G and Skippy are inseparable. Whatever Tilly G does, Skippy also wanted to do. Every morning, Skippy can’t wait to go out in the yard to say hello to his new best friend, Tilly G. Here’s an adorable video of how an energetic puppy became besties with a slow tortoise.
