Ashely Labrant was in her backyard, doing her daily routine as usual. Then suddenly she saw something unusual from a canal near her home. Ashley saw a limping dog in the stagnant water from the canal, and it looked scared and weak.
These canals are always empty except seabirds that go inside it, and it’s unexpected to see a dog. Ashely quickly called the Police Department to get help. She was also thinking about ways that she can help the dog in the meantime.
Officer Fox arrived at the place the soonest they received the call and climbed over the fence. He didn’t mind getting his uniform dirty as he crawls down to the murky water through the canal walls.
The officer was so compassionate to struggle across his way to the water even though it was calf-deep. When he reached the dog’s area, he tried to hold his hands out for the dog to smell. As the dog trusts him, he then grabbed the collar around his neck.
He immediately brought him out to safety. The officer checked the dog’s well-being and checked if he had any physical abnormalities, wounds, or physical trauma. The dog looked unwell and injured, and his paws were all bloody, had raw scars, and he is also malnourished.
The officer decided to bring him to a local animal shelter so he would be treated. Good thing, the dog has a microchip and was discovered that he had been gone missing from home. The dog’s name was Flipflop.
Flipflop has been given proper care at the animal shelter. Flipflop was severely malnourished, so he was put on a special diet to help him gain weight again.
Flipflop is now with his family, and they have been looking for him for days. His injuries are all treated first before he was sent back to reunite with his family. Flipflop’s owner was so happy and thankful to Officer Fox and Ashley that he is now safe and sound with them.
